About the Opportunity

We're looking for a Senior Adviser – Safety & Wellbeing to join our People & Safety team. In this pivotal role, you'll lead the delivery of key safety and wellbeing initiatives, providing expert guidance on legislation, systems, and best practices. Reporting to the Safety & Wellbeing Lead, you'll help ensure Australian Industry Group remains compliant and committed to the safety of our employees, members, and the broader community.

Responsibilities

* Support the implementation and maintenance of Australian Industry Group's Safety Management system to ensure compliance with relevant standards, including the development, consultation, implementation and ongoing improvement of processes and procedures.
* Lead and/or case manage safety incident investigations including the development of investigation tools and methodologies and investigation reports.
* Manage, maintain, audit and report on Australian Industry Group's WHS Strategy and Action plan and associated risk and hazard registers and plans.
* Facilitate Australian Industry Group safety inductions for employees and contractors as required including review of submitted safety documentation if appropriate.

Qualifications

* Tertiary qualifications in Workplace Health and Safety (or related field) or equivalent experience.
* Auditing qualifications or related experience.
* Demonstrated understanding of current workplace safety, health and environment legislative requirements.
* Demonstrated experience in implementing and monitoring a safety management system within an organisation operating in multi‐site locations.
* Proven experience in supporting a strong safety culture resulting in improved safety performance.
* Demonstrated experience in managing competing priorities and delivering high quality outcomes within agreed timeframes.
* Prior experience working with apprentices and trainees and/or host companies.
