**Join our Surgery Administration Team**
We are recruiting to a number of Secretarial support roles across the Division of Surgery and Perioperative Medicine. This process may be used to fill multiple similar vacancies throughout the Division.
**About the role**:
Reporting to the Administration Manager for Secretarial Services, these roles are integral to supporting administrative workflow within surgical units. Duties for the role will include:
- The Unit Secretary provides confidential secretarial service to the relevant unit, undertaking typing and reception duties and the maintenance of appointment diaries. The position is a communication link for patients, outside agencies and health professionals.
- The Unit Secretary will provide best practice administrative services to ensure effective and efficient day to day management of the Unit, and to ensure that patient appointments and bookings are made in a timely, accurate and courteous manner. The position is required to maintain a highly organised office environment.
- The Unit Secretary is responsible for the provision of support to the clinical unit for the recruitment of medical officers. This involves acting as a liaison with SALHN's Workforce Services team and ensuring all documentation is prepared and submitted in a timely manner.
**About you**:
- Ability to respond to a diverse range of people in a courteous, helpful manner under a variety of conditions, e.g. heavy workload, aggressive clients, with the ability to maintain confidentiality in dealing with sensitive and personal details.
- Possess a high level of organisational skills
- Effective telephone and communications skills.
- Ability to work effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
