We are working with a government department seeking to engage a Systems Administrator – Vulnerability Management Specialist. Your new role
As a Systems Administrator (Vulnerability Specialist), you will play a pivotal role in a large-scale cyber security remediation project. Reporting to the Cyber Security Director, you’ll be responsible for patching and upgrading IT infrastructure across diverse platforms to remediate vulnerabilities and enhance security posture.
Key responsibilities include:
- Remediate and mitigate cyber security vulnerabilities through patching, configuration changes, and system upgrades.
- Manage the full lifecycle of vulnerability remediation: planning, change control, testing, and implementation.
- Develop automated patching strategies aligned with ACSC Essential 8.
- Implement automated patching systems for operating systems and applications across servers, workstations, and IoT devices.
- Apply group policy, Intune policy, or scripting solutions to remediate configuration vulnerabilities across multiple environments.
What you'll need to succeed
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in IT Operations or System Administration roles.
- Proven ability to deploy, configure, and maintain diverse infrastructure (Windows Servers, Active Directory, SQL clusters, VMware ESX, Commvault, mobile and IoT devices).
- Hands-on experience with Intune, Azure Update Manager, and server monitoring tools.
- Familiarity with Linux environments and ITIL or similar ITSM frameworks.
- Recent experience in vulnerability management within large enterprise or government settings.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to prioritise under pressure.
