Job Summary
The Graduate Supervisor – Facility Operations is responsible for overseeing the training and supervision of Facility Operations staff. This includes hiring, scheduling, and payroll management.
* Lead all disciplinary meetings with part-time student staff.
* Conduct part-time staff meetings with assistance from the Coordinator of Membership & Operations.
* Develop and enforce policies and procedures related to Facility Operations.
The successful candidate will also be responsible for:
* Implementing strategies to manage Rec Automation software to improve customer service operations.
* Managing inventory, research, and purchasing fitness equipment for the facility.
* Assisting the Coordinator of Membership & Operations staff with planning and execution of our annual maintenance shutdown week.
Additional responsibilities include attending staff meetings and trainings hosted by the Campus Recreation Services department, serving as an active member on an Internal Committee, and leading American Red Cross CPR/AED/First Aid Professional Rescuer certification courses.
This is a part-time position requiring a Bachelor's degree in Sports Management, Exercise Science, Higher Education, or a closely related field. The ideal candidate will have one year of undergraduate experience in campus recreation and knowledge of basic practices in recreational sports. Leadership and supervisory abilities of undergraduate students and interns are essential. The ability to work independently and as part of a professional team that collaborates effectively with colleagues is also required.
The Graduate Supervisor – Facility Operations will work in an office environment/fitness center environment with moderate to loud noise. Evening/weekend work may be required. Physical demands include sitting at a desk or table for at least 50% of the workday, standing or walking for at least 50% of the workday, repetitive wrist, hand, or finger movement while operating computer equipment, occasional bending and stooping, eye-hand coordination (keyboard typing), hearing and talking, and extended periods of reading fine print.
