Our client is a large, purpose-driven Federal Government Agency seeking a number of
APS5 Quality Officers to join the Performance, Quality and National Workload Management Branch .
This role sits within the Quality Assurance and Improvement function and plays a key role in reviewing frontline decision-making, assessing legislative and procedural compliance, and driving continuous improvement across service delivery.
You'll work with complex information, apply judgement to quality reviews, and provide evidence-based insights that support better participant outcomes.
* Australian Citizenship required (MANDATORY - Federal Government)
* Initial contract until 31st December with extension potential
* APS5 hourly rate: $55.24 + Super
* Hybrid working arrangement (2/3)
* Location: Geelong VIC
About the role:
The APS5 Quality Assurance Officer works under limited direction to conduct moderately complex to complex quality assurance reviews across planning and decision-making activities.
You will apply legislation, policy and guidance consistently, record findings clearly, identify risks, and contribute to improvement strategies that strengthen quality, performance and sustainability across frontline services.
Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
* Conducting quality assurance reviews and audits of planning and decision-making activities
* Assessing compliance against legislation, policy, procedures and guidelines
* Recording clear, evidence-based findings and recommendations
* Identifying risks and escalating issues in line with established processes
* Using qualitative and quantitative analysis to identify trends and insights
* Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and quality uplift strategies
* Managing workflow requests through Jira and business systems
* Supporting team capability through knowledge sharing and mentoring
Essential criteria:
* Experience conducting quality assurance, audit or review activities
* Strong analytical skills, including qualitative and quantitative analysis
* Ability to apply judgement and make evidence-based decisions
* Strong written communication skills, including translating technical information into plain English
* Ability to work independently with initiative while managing competing priorities
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel
Desirable skills and experience:
* Understanding of NDIS legislation, policy and guidelines
* Experience using PACE and/or SAP CRM
* Knowledge of audit processes and quality frameworks
* Experience working in government, regulatory or service delivery environments
