The Graduate Registered Nurse Program is designed to support early career practitioners in their transition from student to confident, competent registered professionals. These programs foster the development of clinical independence, professional identity and reflective practice within a supportive and inclusive environment. Our approach is grounded in a framework of skill development and professional growth, enabling graduates to progress toward safe and autonomous practice. Graduates are supported by dedicated staff who guide clinical learning, encourage critical thinking and promote ongoing reflective and self-directed learning.
Portland Graduate Program (GNP) details as follows:
* Annual intake of up to 10 Graduate Nurses
* Program is for 53 weeks with up to 6 weeks annual leave as per Enterprise Agreement
* Comprehensive orientation program and supernumerary time
* 5 paid study days
* (0.8EFT) 8 days per fortnight
* 3 rotations in clinical areas such as: Acute care; Sub Acute care; Perioperative care; Urgent care; Aged care*; District Nursing services*; Maternity Services* (*-Dependant on number of positions filled)
About you:
* Currently registered as a Registered Nurse with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
* Strong clinical knowledge, skills and experience

Portland District Health (PDH) provides an integrated health service for the community. The hospital was established in 1856 on the current site and now provides a comprehensive range of services that include:
