* Opportunity for a social survey researcher to contribute to an ARC-funded project focused on mediated trust
* Academic Level B Base Salary $127,436 pro-rata + 17% superannuation

About the opportunity

The School of Art, Communication and English (SACE) explores the full spectrum of human expression and creativity, applying digital technology to humanities and social sciences. SACE is nationally and internally recognised for research strengths in literary studies, visual arts, art history, film studies, communication, media practice and digital cultures.

SACE are inviting applications for a Social Survey Researcher to work collaboratively with Professor Terry Flew on his ARC Laureate project of " Mediated Trust: Ideas, Interests, Institutions, Futures ".

In this role, the successful candidate will be closely involved in the core activities of the Laureate, including the design of a comprehensive trust survey informed by current academic literature. This role will work with third-party platforms such as Qualtrics to support the distribution of the survey and assist in developing appropriate sample populations. Additionally, this role will be coordinating with a network of researchers across seven countries: the UK, Austria, Canada, Singapore, China, Germany, and Australia to organise and implement the international survey. The candidate will be responsible for collating and analysing the data, preparing it for circulation, and contributing as a co-author to scholarly journal publications alongside leading experts in the field.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

* develop and create a trust survey in collaboration with an interdisciplinary research team
* undertake qualitative and quantitative data analysis and employ digital methods in applied research
* prepare and submit academic journal articles, and contribute to the editing of research collections
* significantly contribute to successful applications for competitive research grants and/ or funding to deliver research impact
* generate and circulate research findings leading to improved policy, professional practice, and industry and community engagement.

About you

* a PhD in a media and digital communications and/or social sciences
* evidence of holding an emerging research profile and the ability to conduct independent research and assume responsibility for the development and completion of research papers in a timely manner
* experience in applying qualitative and/or digital methods
* experience utilising statistical packages and/or data visualisation tools
* demonstrated ability to work both independently and as a member of a team, capacity to succeed in a fast-paced research-intensive environment, and sound written, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills suitable to collaborating in an academic context.
