Procurement Professional Opportunity
Join a landmark metro stations project in Sydney as a Senior Buyer. This role will be part of a Tier One consortium delivering a city-shaping project that will define the future of transport in NSW.
* Manage sourcing and procurement of site requirements to ensure compliance with policies and project procedures.
* Support Category Manager in procurement strategy, supplier evaluation, and contract negotiations to optimize cost, quality, and lead times.
* Develop strong supplier relationships and prepare recommendations to support informed decision-making.
Key responsibilities include:
* Sourcing goods and services to meet project requirements, ensuring compliance with project procedures.
* Defining procurement strategies, vendor lists, and Requests for Proposal.
* Leading commercial and contractual negotiations with suppliers, preparing bid evaluations and formalizing purchase orders and agreements.
* Conducting cost and technical assessments of supplier offers, preparing recommendations, and securing approvals in line with budgets.
* Managing and maintaining positive supplier relationships, expediting deliveries to meet project deadlines.
* Working with internal departments to identify procurement timelines and ensuring accurate, timely deliverables.
Requirements:
* Construction industry experience as a Senior Buyer on large-scale projects.
* Proven experience sourcing suppliers, negotiating contracts, and managing supplier relationships.
* Preferably SAP Ariba experience.
* Sound understanding of NSW Government Procurement Guidelines.
* Excellent planning, problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
* Strong interpersonal, negotiation, collaboration, and team leadership abilities.
* Flexible, process-oriented, and detail-focused approach.
