The role
The Surgery Connect business unit is integral to the Queensland Governments priority of stabilizing elective surgery waitlists across the state. This role is accountable to ensuring that invoices submitted by private hospitals for services provided under the Surgery Connect Standing Offer Arrangement are validated and paid in line with Queensland Health policy guidelines.
- Provide leadership and direction to the Surgery Connect team to ensure ongoing compliance with Surgery Connect and Queensland Health invoicing and payment guidelines.
- Manage, monitor and mentor staff including identification of resource requirements, recruitment and selection, training, performance management and performance planning.
- Ensure that the team functions at high capacity through ongoing quality improvement in the design, development and implementation of information guidelines, instruments and tools.
- Be the central contact representative for accounts payable activities, including attending key meetings and working with the Department of Health Finance Branch.
- Provide advice on contractual terms and cost efficient pricing in Surgery Connect Services Agreements, including management of non-listed procedures, and procedures outside the scope of the Surgery Connect Program.
About you
We are searching for someone who:
- Ability to manage and lead a team within a complex and diverse environment, including the demonstrated ability to provide professional management, development and guidance to team members.
- Advanced technical knowledge and skills in the area of accounts payable including Surgery Connect systems and S4Hana.
- Identify development opportunities and strive for continuous improvement and support risk and issue identification, assessment and mitigation activities by ensuring risks and issues are documented, reviewed and escalated as appropriate.
- Ability to develop collaborative working relationships with key stakeholders and team members to support the achievement of business outcomes
- Demonstrated ability to use research and analytical skills to develop and provide options and recommendations addressing risk and delivering efficiencies
- Demonstrated ability to successfully manage a range of activities with conflicting timeframes.
