About the Role
Fixed‐term, part‐time (0.6 FTE) position until 30 June 2028. The Western Melbourne Area Department of Education is looking for psychologists to contribute to the Student Support Services (SSS) team in Wyndham, supporting schools to address barriers that impact student access, preparation, and progress to achieving educational goals and development potential.
Responsibilities
You will work with schools, teachers, and students to identify and address factors that impede learning and wellbeing, providing specialised support at the individual, group, and school levels. You will collaborate within a multidisciplinary team to deliver consultation, direct work with students and teachers, and advocate for system change to enhance student achievement, engagement, and wellbeing.

* Structured induction and a range of regular professional development opportunities, e.g. peer and 1:1 supervision/coaching – both discipline‐specific and team‐based peers
* Mentors to help build a professional career
* Implementation of innovative practice opportunities to meet individualised student needs, e.g. combination of consultation and direct work with students and teachers
* Building awareness within and across the Department of Education of the role of speech, language and communication in student learning and wellbeing success
* Working with teachers and school leaders to influence system change

Desirable Qualifications and Experience
* Graduate or post‐graduate qualification in psychology or equivalent
* Full registration as a psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioners Registration Agency (AHPRA)

Student Support Services comprise a broad range of allied health professions including psychologists, speech pathologists, behaviour analysts, occupational therapists, and social workers.
