About The Role
The Mental Health Clinician will work collaboratively with a young person and their family to identify their support needs, goals and develop collaborative care plans.
This is a part time role (30 hours per week), fixed term to 30 June 2026 with the possibility of extension based on ongoing government funding.

Duties
Provide high quality psycho-social assessments Ensure Evidence based, focused psychological interventionsWork closely with stakeholders to provide maximum care outcomes for young people
Skills & Experience
Current AHPRA registration as a Psychologist, Clinical Psychologist, Provisional Psychologist, Mental Health Nurse, or Occupational Therapist (accredited with OTA as meeting the Australian Competency Standards in mental health)OR Qualifications in social work and has (or willing to work towards) accreditation with the AASW as a Mental Health Social Worker OR Current or eligibility for clinical registration with PACFA as a Mental Health Practitioner or Certified Practicing and working towards OR Current or eligibility Counsellor Level 2, 3 or 4 membership with ACAExperience in assessment and diagnosis of mental health disorders, provision of Cognitive- Behaviour Therapy and other evidence-based focused psychological strategiesDemonstrated understanding of key issues in relation to the health and wellbeing needs of young people with mental health and/or substance use problemsDemonstrated ability to engage and communicate effectively with young people, and their family and friends
About Headspace
headspace provides support to young people aged 12-25 experiencing mild to moderate or emerging mental health issues. The multidisciplinary team at headspace Nowra work to improve health, social, vocational and educational outcomes for young people.
Grand Pacific Health is the lead agency of headspace Nowra. We are a not-for-profit, primary health care organisation providing locally tailored, high quality physical and mental health services across NSW and the ACT.
