Shape the future of health and wellbeing at SA Water.
SA Water is a successful, modern water utility wholly owned by the Government of South Australia. With over 1,700 employees and $14 billion in infrastructure, we deliver essential water and sewerage services to more than 1.8 million South Australians across a diverse and expansive geography.
We’re seeking a strategic, collaborative, and forward-thinking leader to join our newly created Work Health, Wellness and Hygiene team. This is a unique opportunity to design and deliver a holistic health and wellbeing framework that supports our people across both corporate and operational environments—from boardrooms to confined spaces.
About the Role
As Manager, Integrated Health and Wellbeing, you will:
* Lead the design and delivery of SA Water’s Health and Wellbeing Framework, including psychosocial risk management, occupational hygiene, and injury prevention.
* Coordinate a small multi-disciplinary team (including external subject matter expert contractors) and collaborate across operational and corporate functions to deliver impactful programs.
* Oversee the claims, injury management and return-to-work program, ensuring compliance with Workcover self-insurance requirements.
* Drive initiatives in drug and alcohol testing, immunisation, health checks, fatigue, and human factors.
* Work closely with subject matter experts in psychosocial health to ensure evidence-based program design.
* Present insights and performance outcomes to executive leadership and board-level stakeholders.
* Lead and support a team of two direct reports, fostering a culture of trust, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
About You
You are a change agent with a strategic mindset but also the ability to “step into the weeds” when needed. You thrive in dynamic environments and know how to bring people on the journey—especially through the storming and norming phases of team development. With a strong focus on proactive health strategies, risk management, and continuous improvement, you will play a key role in fostering a safe, healthy, and supportive environment at SA Water. You’ll take a holistic view of the worker health and wellness lifecycle and design programs that support self-care, embed healthy habits, and extend wellbeing beyond the workplace.
You bring:
* Extensive experience in injury management, ideally with a background in OT, Allied Health, Health Sciences or similar.
* Proven ability to lead and influence across multi-disciplinary teams.
* Strong understanding of psychosocial risk, occupational hygiene, and health promotion.
* Experience managing self-insured workers’ compensation schemes.
* Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders from frontline teams to board executives.
* A collaborative leadership style that builds trust and drives results.
* Qualifications in health science, nursing, allied health or similar are highly desirable.
Why SA Water?
* Be part of a new operating model with expanded coverage across regional and central locations.
* Join a values-driven organisation focused on sustainability and community impact.
* Help shape a new team and culture from the ground up.
