Maintenance Officer
This is a full-time position that entails maintaining and repairing school facilities, as well as performing cleaning duties in classrooms, common areas and outdoor spaces.
The ideal candidate will work 38 hours per week across 5 days and be responsible for managing resources and operations related to maintenance. They must also ensure compliance with safety and health regulations and engage in professional development relevant to maintenance and safety.
Key responsibilities include:
* Maintaining and repairing school facilities to ensure they are safe and functional
* Performing cleaning duties in classrooms, common areas and outdoor spaces to maintain a clean and healthy environment
* Managing resources and operations related to maintenance to optimize efficiency and effectiveness
* Ensuring compliance with safety and health regulations to prevent accidents and injuries
* Engaging in professional development relevant to maintenance and safety to stay up-to-date with best practices
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* A current Working with Vulnerable People card
* A National Police Record or willingness to obtain one
* Physical fitness for the requirements of the position, including a pre-employment full health assessment
* A current Tasmanian driver licence for light, medium or heavy rigid drivers licence or willingness to obtain one
* A First Aid certificate or willingness to obtain one
* Working at heights qualifications or willingness to obtain them
* Chainsaw operations qualifications or willingness to obtain them
* Electrical testing and tagging qualifications or willingness to obtain them
