The Tasmanian State Service (TSS) is the largest employer in Tasmania, with over 28,000 employees providing services to the Tasmanian community at all levels. Within this context, the Bluegum Digital Health Transformation Program team is responsible for delivering a 10-year Digital Health Transformation Strategy aimed at creating a world-class, innovative, and integrated health system. This initiative focuses on empowering consumers and enabling healthcare professionals to improve patient outcomes through system-wide, digitally enabled technologies.

The program, including the implementation of the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system, is crucial for the efficient delivery of frontline health services. It seeks to create a more connected and accessible health system across Tasmania, ensuring timely and appropriate care for all residents, ultimately enhancing health outcomes.

The Role:

The Project Manager oversees ICT projects within the Department of Health, ensuring alignment with business goals and ICT strategies. Responsibilities include managing project plans, documentation, and communication to ensure successful deployment of Digital Health and ICT solutions. The role involves collaborating with business units, vendors, and stakeholders to identify needs, implement change management, and deliver impactful solutions, working closely with project sponsors to ensure timely and seamless project transitions into operations.


You will need:

* Demonstrated success in leading complex information systems implementation projects.
* Strong strategic, conceptual, analytical, and creative skills.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including negotiation abilities.
* Ability to prepare detailed reports, briefings, and correspondence.

Details of appointment:

This is a permanent, full-time, day-position working 76 hours per fortnight, starting as soon as possible. Hours are negotiable with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for twelve months from the publication date, this process may be used to fill similar vacancies, including full-time, part-time, and casual roles.

The salary range is $128,102 to $134,832 per annum, with an additional 11.5% superannuation contribution.

* Salary is in accordance with the Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022 .
