Power and Water Corporation is a Northern Territory Government (NTG) owned utility that operates across a geographic area of 1.3 million square kilometres and within a range of diverse environmental conditions, ranging from the arid dry of the central desert to the tropical monsoon of the top end. The corporation generates, transmits and distributes electricity, supplies water and wastewater treatment services across the Northern Territory (NT) for the benefit of residents, including remote and isolated Aboriginal communities and outstations.
This is an exciting ongoing position that will offer you the opportunity to build your career in the water and wastewater industry. The Technical Coordinator role will ensure that water and wastewater systems are operated and maintained to agreed service levels, quality standards and licence requirements through efficient and effective management of the day‐to‐day operation and repairs/maintenance of those systems and assets. Assist in the development and execution of preventative and planned maintenance and minor capital works programs. Coordinate, control and manage internal and external resources including contract management to achieve operational and maintenance programmes as allocated.
Key responsibilities include:
* Managing day‐to‐day operations of water and wastewater systems.
* Planning and executing preventive and planned maintenance.
* Coordinating resources and contracts to meet operation targets.
* Using SCADA systems for system monitoring and fault diagnostics.
Essential qualifications and experience include:
* Significant experience in the installation, operation, repair and maintenance of water and wastewater equipment.
* Experience using SCADA systems for system monitoring and fault diagnostics.
* Mandatory AQF Certificate III/IV in water or wastewater operations or a formal trade certificate in a related field.
* Appointment level will depend on knowledge, skill and experience.
