System Security Engineer
The System Security Engineer plays a pivotal role in the development and maintenance of systems, working closely with senior system engineers to design and implement system solutions while adhering to engineering standards, safety regulations, and project requirements.
Main Responsibilities:
* Manage the creation and upkeep of security Assessment and Authorisation (A&A) documentation.
* Conduct threat and risk assessments, identify and recommend treatment controls and mitigation strategies.
* Participate in security working groups at Product and/or Project levels with internal and external stakeholders.
* Provide input to and review the development of system tests and analysis that verify system security controls.
About You:
* Practitioner's level of experience in the fields of Systems Engineering (i.e., Requirements Management, System Architecture, Systems Integration, and/or Verification and Validation). Experience in complex systems is desirable.
* Cyber Security Engineering experience with software development, computer networks and embedded software systems (ideally within a defense environment).
* Knowledge and experience related to Defense cyber security Assessment & Authorization (A&A) processes.
* Knowledge and experience about contemporary security engineering process, standards, principles and best practice, particularly the PSPF, DSPF and ISM.
* Familiarity with complex systems (e.g., military systems) or related defense technologies is desirable.
* Familiarity of System Engineering in an ASDEFCON context is desirable.
* Tertiary qualifications in systems/software engineering, computer science, or related technical discipline.
* Pursuing or achieved relevant cyber security certification(s) (e.g., CISSP, CISM, OSCP, GIAC, etc.).
* Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Attention to detail and willingness to learn.
A defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants will be required to hold an Australian Defence Security Clearance preferably NV1/NV2 level.
