Summary :
We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles and be able to work independently in a fast-paced environment. This role will allow you the autonomy to implement efficiency improvements that impact our whole business.
Responsibilities :
* Manage accounts payable and receivable, including processing invoices in the billing system and processing batch payments
* Reconcile bank statements, credit card transactions and expense claims
* Communicate with colleagues, customers and vendors regarding financial matters, managing our accounts inboxes
* Manage fixed asset register
* Assist with payroll processing
Qualifications :
* Tafe or University qualification in an accounting or related field
* 5+ years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting
* Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices
* Proficiency in accounting software, such as Xero
* Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work independently, at pace and meet deadlines
* Knowledge of Australian payroll employer compliance obligations and GST, New Zealand not required but highly regarded
* Understanding of internal controls, record keeping and audit trail requirements
