About the role
This is an exciting prospect to join a resources company in West Perth as an Assistant Accountant. The responsibilities
Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for (but not limited to):
- Assisting with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions
- Assisting with month-end reporting, journals, and reconciliations
- Supporting the preparation of management and financial reports
- Maintaining the general ledger and ensuring data accuracy
- Assisting with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Preparing BAS, GST, and FBT reporting
- Supporting external audit requirements
- Ad hoc finance tasks and process improvements as required
The successful applicant will have
- Degree qualifications in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
- 2–4 years’ experience in a similar Assistant Accountant or Accountant role
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
- Experience with ERP Accounting Software systems
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail with an analytical mindset
- CPA/CA studies in progress or willingness to commence (highly regarded)
- Experience in the resources sector (preferred but not essential)
