Overview
The General Site Superintendent / Site Manager is accountable for the safe and effective completion of construction activities on the Mardie Site. You will ensure the BCI values are upheld on site and that Mardie is a safe, fair and respectful workplace for all. This role leads BCI’s presence on site, in the Construction Manager's absence, during the Mardie Project construction. This role will fulfill the statutory appointment of Alternate Site Senior Executive with responsibility in accordance with the Work Health and Safety Act 2020, and the Work Health and Safety (Mines) Regulations 2022.

The Role
The General Site Superintendent / Site Manager will be responsible for, but not limited to:
- Championing a strong Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) culture across Mardie Site.
- Ensuring compliance with DMIRS mine site regulations and company HSE procedures.
- Maintaining high visibility on site with regular field presence and daily safety inspections.
- Leading and promoting proactive safety practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Delivering real-time feedback to uplift safety standards across all site areas.
- Fostering a workplace culture built on care, collaboration, and positive behaviours.
- Leading emergency response efforts and manage the Emergency Management Team (EMT).
- Overseeing incident investigations, ensuring root cause analysis and sharing key learnings.
- Ensuring all plant, structures, and systems are free from hazards and risks.
- Supervising and delivering effective training, hazard communication, and ensuring proper PPE availability.
- Maintaining accurate safety records and ensure compliance with legal obligations.
- Monitoring environmental, heritage, and community commitments on site.
- Overseeing compliance around gas pipelines and Aboriginal heritage areas.
- Investigating and report environmental and heritage breaches; enforcing corrective actions.
- Collaborating with the Project Director and Construction Manager to deliver safe, high-quality construction activities.
- Monitoring contractor performance, logistics, readiness, and compliance with site rules.
- Supervising construction teams, managing resources, and communicating effectively across BCI teams (Perth & Mardie Site).
- Interpreting scopes of work, managing budgets, and resolving site issues promptly.
- Ensuring all construction works meet quality, safety, and documentation standards.
- Overseeing the day-to-day operations of the site village including food, water, waste, and infrastructure.
- Responding to and resolving village-related issues promptly; ensure ongoing maintenance standards.
About You
The preferred candidate will have a minimum of 10 years’ senior operational and construction experience. Previous experience as a Site Senior Executive or Registered Manager is essential, along with a strong working knowledge of relevant mining legislation. Candidates must also meet all eligibility requirements outlined in Schedule 26 of the WHS (Mines) Regulations 2022.
The successful candidate will be required to provide a national police clearance that is not older than 3 months and you must hold a WA White Card.
You must have current unrestricted working rights for Australia to be eligible for consideration.
