Financial Operations Specialist
Job Description
The position of Financial Operations Specialist is a hands-on and varied role that requires the ability to manage day-to-day financial operations and support broader finance functions. This individual will be an integral part of a close-knit team, contributing to the financial integrity and efficiency of the business.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage accurate financial records through timely data entry and transaction processing
* Process accounts payable and receivable, including invoice and payment management
* Perform monthly bank, credit card, and general ledger reconciliations
* Prepare payment runs, ABA files, and supporting documentation
* Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations
* Support tax and compliance reporting
* Maintain financial records both electronically and physically in line with audit requirements
* Liaise with staff to ensure timely collection of receipts and documentation
Requirements
This role requires a strong understanding of double-entry accounting and general accounting principles. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar bookkeeping or accounting role and hold tertiary qualifications in bookkeeping, accounting, or a related field.
Skills and Experience
* Proficiency in ERP/accounting systems and Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* High attention to detail with strong time management and organisational skills
* Ability to work autonomously and as part of a collaborative team
