Procurement Specialist Job
This role offers a unique opportunity to take on end-to-end responsibility for procurement on a major digital project. As the successful candidate, you will support both internal ERP uplift and a broader whole-of-government initiative to modernise ICT systems for smaller entities.
You will need confidence in the process, good judgment, and the ability to build trust with a wide range of stakeholders. A confident procurement practitioner is required who knows how to run a process and when to ask the right questions.
The key responsibilities include leading end-to-end procurement processes, managing procurements for the department's internal ICT systems and smaller agency digital solutions, working with stakeholders and business analysts to shape requirements and translate them into clear, defensible market approaches, overseeing evaluations, managing probity, and negotiating ICT contracts that support project goals.
This position sits within the Smaller Entity ERP Uplift Support PMO (program team of 18–22). You'll report to an EL2 manager and, at the EL1 level, lead your own stream of work. The ideal person has experience in or around central agencies and thrives in fast-paced, reform-focused environments.
Average salary: $127,700 per year. This role is available to a high-performing APS6 looking for the next step. Start ASAP. Hybrid arrangements available (three days per week in office), with flexibility once established.
