Apple's global government affairs team shapes technology policy and secures markets access for Apple's products and services. We are seeking a Government Affairs Lead in Sydney who will report to the APAC Policy Lead. This role will help drive the development and execution of a proactive engagement strategy and advocate for Apple's policy positions to government and other stakeholders.

The Government Affairs Lead will lead the development and implementation of the company's government engagement and advocacy strategy in Australia. They will be a member of the APAC Government Affairs team and report to the APAC Policy Lead. They will work closely with global, in-country and regional teams to protect and promote the company's interests, and advance our policy positions with key government stakeholders in Australia.
Minimum Qualifications
10+ years of relevant experience, with extensive experience in a government affairs function for a multinational corporation, industry association, or government agency that engages regularly with the private sector.
Deep understanding of government affairs in Australia, including government relations, policy advocacy and crisis/issues management.
Experience working with government agencies, Federal and state Members of Parliament, regulatory agencies, and industry associations.
Strong ability to distill complex ideas or issues into effective, clear, concise, and actionable campaigns and content. This also may include getting across technical detail as it relates to Apple's products
Ability to build consensus or coalitions of like-minded companies to address key policy/regulatory issues.
Ability to work as an effective partner and colleague with cross-functional teams across Australia
Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent, preferably in economics, political science, public policy, law, or international relations.
Candidate must be flexible, resourceful, self-motivated, and be able to consistently exercise sound judgment; have a strong sense of responsibility; and work with minimal direct supervision
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in the technology sector will be a plus, or familiarity with policies that may impact the technology sector or Apple.
