About the role
Sense Allied Health is seeking a passionate and experienced Behaviour Support Practitioner to join our team. In this casual role, you will be responsible for providing high-quality, evidence-based behaviour support services to individuals with disability and complex needs. The role is based in Forresters Beach, NSW, however it will predominantly be a remote role requiring you to see clients in their own homes and environments.
What you'll be doing
* Conducting comprehensive assessments to identify the underlying causes of challenging behaviours
* Developing and implementing personalised behaviour support plans to promote positive behaviour change
* Providing direct support and coaching to individuals, their families, and support staff
* Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure a coordinated approach to behaviour support
* Maintaining detailed client records and contributing to the evaluation of behaviour support programs
* Staying up-to-date with best practices in behaviour support and participating in ongoing professional development
What we're looking for
* A relevant tertiary qualification in psychology, disability studies, allied health or a related field
* A minimum Bachelor degree qualification is required
* Minimum 3 years' experience in behaviour support
* Practitioner level must be proficient or above
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and their support networks
* Proficiency in functional behaviour assessments and the development of evidence-based behaviour support plans
* Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
* A deep understanding of the NDIS and the ability to navigate the scheme's requirements
* A valid driver's licence
* Your own car with comprehensive car insurance and the ability to travel within the local area as required
* Must be willing to travel throughout the Central Coast region for client visits
* Australian permanent residency or citizenship status is required
* A current Working with Children Check must be held prior to commencement
* A current NDIS Worker Screening Check is requirement prior to commencement
