The Role
Our Tier 1 client is seeking a Business Development Manager – Resources, with the drive, commercial edge, and industry connections to grow our presence across Iron Ore, minerals, Drilling, and Industrial Services. This role suits a true "hunter" business builder who can identify opportunities, shape client solutions, and convert them into long term partnerships.
Working with the GM Growth & Solutions and Resources leadership, you'll help execute our growth strategy by securing strategic opportunities, strengthening key accounts, and positioning the business as a preferred partner to major mining and resources clients. This role can be based out of Perth, or Brisbane.
What You'll be Doing:
Business Development and Market Expansion
You will be an experienced business development executive within the mining and resources space, with a track record of delivering high value long term contracts. You easily engage with others and have a real desire to help and provide solutions to customers problems. You are not afraid to knock on doors and get in front of decision makers. This role is not for Account Managers
* Build a strong pipeline to Identify and pursue opportunities in line with the Resources strategy.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, and industry stakeholders.
* Support account planning for strategic clients.
* Provide market and competitor insights to inform growth strategies.
Solution Development
* Collaborate across operational, technical, and commercial teams to design scalable, client centric solutions.
* Drive cross sell opportunities across Ventia's broader service portfolio.
* Ensure solutions align with sector strategy, operational feasibility, and client needs.
* Facilitate smooth handover to operations post award.
Proposal and Opportunity Management
* Lead or support strategic bids and unsolicited proposals.
* Prepare proposal content across technical, commercial, and legal components.
* Support pricing, estimating, and risk analysis.
* Champion opportunities through the full sales process, from early shaping to negotiation and handover.
Client Engagement and Account Management
* Present solutions clearly and persuasively to clients.
* Monitor client satisfaction, and ensure issues are resolved.
* Drive retention and growth within high value accounts.
What You Bring:
Drive business development from being out in the field and not from behind a desk.
* Proven success winning work in mining, resources, industrial services, or major infrastructure.
* Strong networks across iron ore, minerals, and mining services.
* A proactive, strategic, commercially sharp approach to business development.
* Ability to lead opportunities end to end and deliver results with both new and existing clients.
