Kia ora, we're looking for an enthusiastic accounting graduate or experienced accounts assistant to join our team.

You'll take ownership of invoicing and arranging payments for multiple entities across Heartland, while maintaining the bank account and Operational Loss delegated authorities registers.
Accuracy is key – ensuring all payments are supported by the right documentation, properly authorised, and paid on time.
You'll also monitor trades in G-Treasury and arrange Treasury Settlements in line with contractual terms.
Working in a small, collaborative team, you'll gain exposure to a variety of tasks, offering plenty of opportunity for development and progression.
Does this sound like you?
You might be a recent graduate or an experienced professional with a background in accounts roles, including exposure to Bank Settlements, Accounts Payable, Receivable and Reconciliations.
Either way, you'll be a confident communicator, highly organised, detail-focused, and comfortable working at pace.
You'll bring: Exposure to general accounting functions including coding invoices, posting journals and completing reconciliations Proficiency in Accounts Payable A solid understanding of accounting fundamentals Strong reconciliation skills Confident user of Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel and Word Exceptional attention to detail Organised with a strong focus on meeting deadlines Ability to communicate effectively at all levels Methodical, hardworking and a team player who can also work independently A bit about us and what we do Heartland is an NZX/ASX-listed financial services group with big growth plans.
