An opportunity exists for a proactive and passionate Health & Safety Business Partner to join our national Health and Safety team, supporting our Southern Metro Concrete and Quarries business.
Reporting to a Business Unit General Manager and Head of Business Partnering Health & Safety, your primary focus is to support our Southern Metro Concrete and Quarries Business ensuring that business unit level issues are understood, controls are implemented and compliance and assurance measures reviewed.
Working closely with the frontline, this is a key role in delivering strong alignment between operational risks and health and safety controls and will enable safety improvements and standardisation of processes across our network of concrete plants and quarries in Southern Sydney, the South Coast, the Southern Highlands and the ACT.
Operating as a true business partner, you will travel to a range of concrete plants and quarries on a regular basis to engage with leaders and employees on site, understand their challenges, and create learning opportunities from issues and incidents to enable them to perform more effectively.
A central part of this role is to build an intimate understanding of our operations and forge strong and lasting relationships with stakeholders so as to deliver positive safety outcomes.
This is a permanent, full-time opportunity.
Candidates must have the flexibility to fly and drive to various sites across Southern Sydney, the Southern Highlands, the South Coast and the ACT.
A motor vehicle allowance will be provided.
Day will involve
Constructively working with and supporting operational leaders on risk management
Building operational teams' health & safety capacity by providing specialist advice, support and coaching
Supporting the roll out and implementation of the Boral Health & Safety Strategy and Business Unit Plan
Facilitating and managing incident response and subsequent analysis and learnings
Supporting the operations in preparation, management and response to HSE Regulatory Compliance inspections, audits, statutory reports and prescribed incident notifications
Facilitating the implementation of the HSEQ Management System & National Programs
Ensuring assurance audits are completed in line with the audit and assurance program and monitoring closeout of WHS actions
What are we looking for
A proactive approach with a willingness and commitment to partnering with and supporting operational teams
Proven experience in a similar role with strong skills in incident investigations and facilitating learnings from incidents
Experience in a high-risk, industrial environment, with prior experience in quarries, concrete or mining highly regarded
Prior exposure to dealing with regulatory bodies
Experience with implementing systems, risk management programs and successful organisational change within complex environments
Cert IV or Diploma in Work Health & Safety
Superior interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence and communication skills, with a natural ability to build solid relationships
