Senior Safety Advisor Job Description
The Senior Safety Advisor will play a pivotal role in driving a consistent, positive safety culture for the project.
This position will assist in supporting the Work, Health and Safety function under general supervision and implement safety practices, systems and procedures.
The Senior Safety Advisor will work with the Zone Health and Safety Managers and the wider project team to provide guidance, clarity and support to lead the safety culture.
* Key Responsibilities:
* Working in accordance and demonstrating commitment to the Project's Values and Behaviours by demonstrating a positive focus on health and safety on the project.
* Providing support, coordination and advice of health and safety practices, systems and procedures including coaching and support to stakeholders across the sites.
* Providing technical input to delivery, ensuring that legal and contractual obligations / risks are identified, controlled and communicated appropriately.
* Working with the ELT and partner with the business to assist in the design and deliver tailored programs, policy, initiatives and services that support reform, change and capability build across the project.
* Maintaining and implementing the Project's WHS policy, management plans, systems and procedures.
* Providing specialist support to internal stakeholders including operational leaders, project employees, contractors, clients and visitors.
* Developing exceptional working relationships with key stakeholders to assist in the delivery of quality outcomes.
* Recommending solutions to issues, improvement opportunities or new prevention measures. Maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of relevant legal, regulatory and company safety requirements, ensuring workplaces are informed of relevant changes.
* Supporting the effectiveness of the consultative framework and communicating safety matters to management and staff as appropriate.
* Reviewing and analysing health and safety data and producing reports in a timely manner.
* Driving continuous improvement in health and safety by assessing the effectiveness & efficiency of operations, initiating performance improvements and sharing best practices / lessons learned.
