About the role
The Manager Performance Support plays an important role in helping Destination NSW plan, assess and report on its event investment activities. The role leads the development of investment assessments, supporting investment decisions that align with the Visitor Economy Strategy 2035. Working closely with senior stakeholders, the position contributes to organisational strategy and provides clear, reliable reporting on event investment to support planning and decision making.
A key focus of the role is managing organisational data and turning complex information into practical insights. This includes sourcing and analysing data from internal, market and industry sources to support funding proposals. The role also contributes to assessing the impact of major initiatives, including providing data analysis to support reporting and evaluation activities such as Vivid.

Destination NSW is the champion and voice for the visitor economy within the NSW Government. Spearheading a whole-of-government approach to visitor economy growth, Destination NSW influences and shapes the visitor economy through strategic research, policy and thought leadership, stakeholder engagement and consultation, commercial partnerships and investment in visitor experiences, business support, marketing and events. Destination NSW is also the major investor in Business Events Sydney (BESydney) for the purpose of securing more international and domestic conventions, incentive travel reward programs, corporate events and exhibitions.
About You
You bring strong analytical capability and are comfortable working with complex data to support informed decision‐making. You have experience managing large datasets, understanding how multiple data sources connect, and applying rigorous analysis to generate clear, accurate insights. You demonstrate a solid understanding of consumer research methodologies, with particular strength in quantitative analysis, and are confident using advanced Excel, including complex formulas and modelling. Experience in economic or statistical modelling is desirable. Your background may include finance, banking, economics, consulting, consumer research, or data science, with proven experience using quantitative information to support business cases, reporting, and organisational planning.
You are also able to work effectively in a fast‐paced environment where deadlines are tight and expectations are high. You communicate clearly with a wide range of stakeholders, including senior leaders, and can explain complex information in a straightforward way that supports decision making. You are organised, practical and solutions‐focused, and you can balance competing priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy in your work.
Key knowledge and experience
* Strong experience and understanding of modelling, data analysis, cost benefit analysis, new investment proposals, consumer research methodology and business case development.
* Extensive data analysis and market research including quantitative experience.
* Demonstrated knowledge of a range of analysis and reporting techniques, technologies and tools including automation, SPSS, Advanced Excel & PowerPoint
