MSS Security is seeking a Part-Time Aviation Protection Officer to join our team at Gladstone Airport. As an Aviation Protection Officer, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and security of passengers, staff and airport operations.
Duties include but are not limited to:
* Conduct security screening for passengers, staff and visitors.
* Operate security technology and systems, including metal detectors, to identify potential risks or prohibited items.
* Perform scans when required for passengers, staff and visitors to ensure no prohibited items are being carried.
* Conduct Explosive Trace Detection tests.
* Operate X-ray machines to screen luggage for dangerous goods, prohibited items, or weapons.
* Perform thorough bag searches when necessary to ensure compliance with aviation security regulations.
* Monitor and patrol airport premises to identify and report any security threats or breaches.
Requirements:
* Ability to undergo and pass a national security police check.
* Ability to undergo and pass a medical assessment (including drug and alcohol testing).
* Full Australian working rights.
* Strong customer service skills with excellent verbal and written communication.
* Proficient in basic computer skills.
* Ability to stand for extended periods, up to 12 hours.
* 24/7 availability required.
