Role Overview
The Sales Manager - NSW is responsible for driving sales growth, brand development, and market share across New South Wales. This role leads the execution of the national sales strategy within the state, with a large focus towards independent retail and servicing the wholesalers (ALM, ILG & Paramount), managing key customer relationships, identifying new business opportunities across off-premise channels, and working with existing distributors/partners to ensure alignment and execution of brand strategy. The role requires a highly motivated and commercially astute individual with strong industry relationships, capable of delivering sustainable growth while representing the CW Wines portfolio with professionalism and passion.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development
* Develop and execute the NSW state sales plan aligned with national strategy
* Drive new business across key account groups and independent venues
* Build and manage a strong pipeline of opportunities
* Deliver against sales budgets, KPIs, and growth targets
Key Account & Relationship Management
* Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key customers, groups, and stakeholders
* Lead joint business planning with key accounts to drive mutual growth
* Negotiate trading terms including pricing, volume commitments, and promotional activity
* Monitor customer performance and proactively identify opportunities to increase rate of sale
* Ensure consistent and effective in-market presence through regular customer engagement
Brand Building & Activation
* Drive brand awareness and advocacy across the state through tastings, events, and trade engagement
* Work closely with marketing to execute campaigns and in-market activations
* Ensure high-quality brand representation across all customer touchpoints
Distribution & Channel Development
* Grow distribution across off-premise channels, with a large focus towards independent retail, and servicing the wholesalers (ALM, ILG & Paramount)
* Identify gaps and opportunities within the territory and implement targeted strategies
* Work with existing distributors/partners to ensure alignment and execution of brand strategy
Performance & Reporting
* Monitor sales performance, ROI, and customer activity
* Analyse data and market trends to inform decision-making and improve performance
* Maintain accurate reporting and pipeline management via CRM
* Provide regular forecasting and market insights to the wider business
About You
* Proven experience in a sales role within the wine, liquor, or FMCG industry
* Strong existing relationships within the NSW landscape
* Demonstrated ability to drive sales growth and win new business
* Commercially savvy with strong negotiation skills
* Highly organised with excellent time and territory management
* Confident communicator with the ability to influence and build trust
* Passion for wine and the broader beverage industry
