THE HOSPITAL:
The hospital is Sydney's largest private hospital with over 700 beds and approximately 2300 staff, 1000 of those being accredited medical practitioners.
They provide a comprehensive range of acute surgical, medical, and obstetric care, complex cardiac procedures, robotics, and mínimally invasive surgeries.
The Emergency department sees up to 20,000 patients annually, they are equipped to provide immediate medical care on a 24/7 basis for life-threatening conditions such as heart attacks, strokes, respiratory issues, and injuries resulting from accidents.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES, ACTIVITIES, AND DUTIES:
- Be responsible for immediate patient care including adequate history taking, physical examination, ongoing continuous review of patient condition and progress, investigations and therapy indicated by unit protocol or as directed by the duty specialist.
- Perform specialised procedures at the direction and under supervision of the duty specialist.
- Prepare material for the hospital's clinical presentations, teaching sessions and mortality/morbidity reviews as directed.
- Develop and progress a project related to research, education, or quality.
- Provide leadership and promote a commitment to high quality customer service principles, practices, and attributes.
- Take responsibility for supervising clinical duties of residents, medical officers, and interns.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Eligible for general, or provisional registration as a medical practitioner with APRHA.
- Experience as an Emergency Registrar or Snr Registrar
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Ability to work a 24/7 rotating roster including weekends, nights, and public holidays.
- Evidence of involvement in continuing medical education.
- Proven reliability in work within personal level of expertise and seeking assistance as needed from senior staff.
