14 day locum gaps.
Ochre Medical Centre in Coonamble is a mixed-billing general practice that offers various services to its community. You are likely to start your weekday doing ward rounds and then head over to the GP Clinic, a 2 minute drive from the MPS for GP Consults. you will be on call for all emergency presentations between 8am- 6pm and on call evenings and weekends 1:2 for cat 1 & 2 only depending on the shared on call. The GP Clinic is not open on the weekend or Public Holidays.
The hospital is equipped with 3 emergency beds, 8 acute care beds and a 18 bed residential aged care ward. The nursing staff and Allied Health teams offer first class support making your locum experience both enjoyable and memorable.
The location
Coonamble is a rural town located 536 km north-west of Sydney via Mudgee, 97 km north of Gilgandra and 180 m above sea-level. It has a stable community of +- 3000 people. The district is known for its sheep and cattle. The quiet town has a charming main street with huge old pubs, interesting murals, amusing nickname caricatures and a number of Art Deco buildings.
Essential Criteria
- You must be an experienced, vocationally registered ED/VMO doctor.
- Recent ED experience working in rural and remote communities
- ALS2 is essential
