Billabong Zoo is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Supervisor to lead our front-of-house operations across Admissions, Zoo Retail Store and The Meeting Point Café. This role is ideal for someone passionate about delivering exceptional guest experiences while supporting a dynamic team in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
Our Supervisors play a key role in ensuring smooth daily operations, maintaining service excellence, and upholding the zoo’s commitment to conservation, sustainability, and community.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee daily operations across Café, Retail and Admissions, ensuring high standards of customer service, cleanliness, and presentation.
* Supervise, train, and support staff to deliver efficient, friendly and professional service.
* Manage POS systems, daily cash handling, and reconciliation procedures.
* Assist with rostering, inventory management, stock ordering and supplier coordination.
* Support food and beverage preparation, including barista duties during peak times.
* Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety standards.
* Monitor visitor entry processes, ticketing, memberships and online bookings.
* Respond to customer enquiries, both in person and via phone and email.
* Liaise with the Zoo’s management team to maintain smooth communication and guest satisfaction.
* Lead by example in promoting Billabong Zoo’s values of conservation, respect and sustainability.
Essential Criteria
1. Proven experience in a supervisory or senior customer service role within café, retail or tourism environments.
2. Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to motivate and support a team.
3. Experience with POS systems, EFTPOS, and digital
