The Opportunity
At Shine, we champion better justice for our clients. This full‐time, permanent Practice Support Lead / Senior Paralegal role sits within our TAC & WorkCover team. You'll work closely with our Geelong and Sunshine personal injury legal teams, leading a strong legal support team of six while supporting lawyers on their WorkCover and TAC cases.
We offer a flexible work environment, with the option to work from either our Sunshine or Geelong office. You will need to travel to the other office at least once a week.
Responsibilities
* Drive client outcomes and performance across a dedicated team of six WorkCover and TAC paralegals and administration assistants who provide high‐quality support to our clients.
* Coach the team to provide exceptional client service using our client service guiding principles, building trusting relationships with clients and supporting them throughout their legal journey.
* Set team members up for success, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development, and identifying opportunities for improvement.
* Manage a portfolio of WorkCover and TAC claims.
* Support the Sunshine legal practice manager to achieve their goals, contributing to the overall success of the practice.
* Work with solicitors to support day‐to‐day file and client management operations.
* Prepare matters for conference and hearing, including preparation of court and legal documents and general correspondence.
* Use your high attention to detail to draft briefs and documents, such as claim forms and schedule of damages.
Qualifications
* Demonstrated experience in personal injury as a legal assistant or paralegal, with an interest in managing a small team of legal support professionals.
* A strong understanding of, and ability to interpret, relevant legislation and legal documentation.
* Enjoys working on legally challenging and factually complex matters.
* The maturity and confidence to support clients who may be experiencing trauma.
* A desire to be part of a strong, cohesive team that works together to achieve great results.
* A commitment to truly connect with those around you and work together to deliver exceptional results for our clients.
* A keen eye for detail in drafting skills.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Acknowledges and values the importance of your role as the gateway to support our clients.
* Availability to work the hours 8:15 am – 5 pm, Monday to Friday (flexibility discussed).
