The role
Speech Therapist – Sheltering Arms WA Pty Ltd Location: Geraldton, WA 6530, Australia Salary: AUD $95,000 - $100,000 per annum Position Overview: Our client is seeking a skilled and compassionate Speech Therapist to join their team. In this role, you will assess, diagnose, and manage communication and swallowing disorders, providing direct therapy, education, consultancy, and advocacy to clients and their families. Key Responsibilities: * Conduct diagnostic assessments to evaluate hearing, speech, language, communication, and swallowing difficulties using standardized tests and observational techniques. * Prepare detailed reports of assessment results and make referrals to relevant medical practitioners when necessary. * Recommend interventions and solutions for clients with hearing impairments, including hearing aids, implantable devices, medical treatment, and assistive listening tools, as well as providing rehabilitation programs. * Provide counselling, guidance, and information to clients and their families as part of treatment plans. * Support the development and implementation of noise control and hearing conservation strategies. * Deliver therapy and management programs for speech, language, learning, and communication disorders that may be developmental, disability-related, or acquired due to injury or illness. * Advise on safe eating and swallowing techniques, including body positioning and food/fluid textures, to reduce the risk of choking. * Educate and collaborate with health professionals, early childhood educators, teachers, and caregivers, providing support and counselling to clients and families affected by communication or swallowing difficulties. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Speech Pathology (Speech Therapy) Current registration or eligibility for membership with Speech Pathology Australia (or relevant licensing body in your country of practice) Minimum of 2–3 years’ clinical experience in speech pathology or related allied health setting Experience working with individuals with communication, speech, language, voice, or swallowing (dysphagia) disorders is preferred Strong assessment, clinical reasoning, and treatment planning skills Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork abilities Why Join Us: * Be part of a supportive, client-centered team. * Make a meaningful impact on the lives of people living with disability. * Work across diverse care and community setting.
