About the Role
We are seeking a Statistical Data Scientist to work on research projects in areas such as statistical spatial modelling; Bayesian inference and uncertainty quantification; optimal design; statistical machine learning; and time series modelling.
Key Responsibilities
* Literature review and software development for research projects.

* Publishing manuscripts in internationally reviewed journals.

About the Team
You will be part of the data science team of the Australian Research Council Industrial Transformation Research Hub (ITRH) for Transforming energy Infrastructure through Digital Engineering (TIDE), which comprises an international team of multi-disciplinary researchers and industry partners. The team focuses on harnessing data and physics-based science to better understand offshore energy environments.
Requirements
* A relevant Doctoral qualification in computational statistics, spatial statistics, Bayesian inference and uncertainty quantification, or closely related fields.
* A strong track record in publishing manuscripts in internationally reviewed journals, relative to research opportunity.

The occupant of the position will also be a member of the TIDE ITRH, based at the Indian Ocean Marine Research Centre (IOMRC) at the University of Western Australia (UWA). You will benefit from regular interaction with applied scientists and data scientists at the IOMRC as well as industry partners, through regular virtual and in-person meetings.
