About The Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Generalist Teacher to become a valuable addition to the team at St John's College, Dubbo. The teacher in a secondary Catholic school is someone who can collaboratively develop and implement quality curriculum programs, while creating a nurturing and orderly learning environment for their students.
Education
We are seeking a Teacher who understands and commits to supporting the mission and ethos of Catholic education within the school by:
- Creating a learner-centred, supportive, and cooperative learning environment aligned with curriculum policies
- Developing and implementing quality curriculum programs using effective teaching methods; assess and report student progress
- Using inclusive teaching strategies and adapt practices for equitable education
- Analysing student assessment data to identify learning barriers and encourage improvement
- Engaging in ongoing professional development to enhance student outcomes
- Collaborating with school leadership, staff, and contribute to school life
- Providing student supervision and assist in organising extracurricular activities

About You
We are looking for someone who can address the following selection criteria:
- Teachers with a background in primary are encouraged to apply
- The desire to engage with and contribute to a Catholic learning organisation
- Experience and proven record in effective classroom learning and teaching
- Advanced understanding of contemporary teaching and learning practices
- A proven ability to differentiate the learning to meet the needs of all students
- A capacity to work collegially and collaborate within a diverse team
- Excellent communication and organisational skills, punctuality and adaptability
- The ability to develop positive relationships in the classroom based on mutual respect, patience and understanding
- Characteristics that provide a positive role model to students at the school both in their professional and personal life
- Capacity to create safe and supportive learning environments for students
- Effective management of student discipline and related matters
- A willingness to engage with the Professional Learning Communities program and the ability to work effectively as part of a Professional Learning Team
