Role Overview
The Project Director will take ownership of multiple major projects across several states at different stages of their lifecycle. This includes early strategy, design development, planning, procurement, delivery and settlement. The Project Director will also play a key part in assessing future resource requirements and determining what capability and team structure will be required as projects progress. The role requires a commercially minded leader who can guide multidisciplinary teams (both internal and external), drive program and financial performance, and ensure high levels of quality and execution throughout each stage.
Responsibilities
* Lead all phases of major project delivery from concept to completion
* Establish resourcing requirements and advise on team structure as the function scales
* Manage feasibility, financial modelling and value-enhancement initiatives
* Oversee design development, planning submissions and detailed documentation
* Direct consultant coordination and negotiate consultant agreements
* Identify project risks and opportunities and report to senior leadership
* Guide procurement strategies and contractor/builder engagement
* Monitor construction progress, quality, program and compliance
* Support marketing, sales, purchaser management and settlement processes
* Maintain project programs, milestones and reporting structures
* Build and maintain effective relationships with consultants, authorities and external partners
* Maintain consistent upward reporting on project progress and recommendations
Requirements
* 10+ years' experience in built-form, mixed-use development
* Proven experience delivering major projects, ideally residential/mixed-use
* Strong capability across design development, procurement and construction delivery
* Residential and/or hotel development experience preferred
* Demonstrated ability to influence and lead multidisciplinary teams and contributors
* Strong communication, commercial analysis and stakeholder engagement skills
* Ability to remain clear-headed, solutions-focused and effective under pressure
