Great opportunity to join a Tier 2 contractor with excellent presence in the transport and water sector with a strong reputation for delivering quality projects.
A market leading Tier 2 contractor with a proven track record of successfully delivering complex projects, our client is now seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to join their growing business in Sydney.
They work across new build, refurbishments, remediation, upgrades etc. on transport and water infrastructure projects. You will be running projects from smaller up to $10m. Other projects in the future could be $20m+.
As Senior Project Manager, you will need to have strong commercial acumen, tender management, contracts management, design management, OHS, programming / planning experience as well as running meetings with consultants and subcontractors to provide a high-quality service that will ensure client expectations are met and exceeded.
You will be working very closely with the Operations Manager and undertaking some business development, tendering and work winning responsibilities as well as delivery of projects, recruitment of teams and managing of teams with support from senior management.
Would suit a candidate looking for some career progression and a step up in duties.
Years of experience:
7 years +
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
* Tendering and work winning
* Recruitment of teams and managing teams
* Design comprehensive project programmes and communicate to team
* Project delivery from inception through to completion
* Ensure construction programmes are followed & deliver on project quality to programme
* Identify and manage construction risk through all projects, escalating issues when required
* Manage project expenditure and cash flow
* Management and achievement of external engineering design aspects of projects
* Design management
* Manage subcontractors on site
* Manage and maintain HSEQ requirements on the project
* Produce progress reports
* Deliver and manage client expectations
Qualifications and Requirements:
* Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Construction Management or similar
* Minimum 7 years+ experience in the successful delivery of projects from start to finish ideally from a Tier 1 or 2 or 3 background
* Proven leadership ability in building and motivating teams to deliver high quality projects
* Previous experience delivering greenfield projects
* Detailed knowledge of local council and regulatory requirements / standards
* Strong planning and project financial reporting skills
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Well-developed interpersonal skills
* Experience with Microsoft Office suite
* Construction Safety Induction (white) card
