Quality Assurance Assessor Permanent position Potential for growth Day & Afternoon shifts available Carrum Downs Location The Company: Our client is a leading producer of high-quality mechanical components for the defence industry. Known for their commitment to excellence and innovation, they are expanding and need someone dedicated to ensuring their products meet and exceed customer expectations. The Job: The Quality Assurance Assessor will be responsible for assuring consistent production quality and conducting thorough inspections of both in-house and outsourced mechanical items. This role is critical in maintaining high standards and fostering a strong quality culture within the organisation. Key Responsibilities: Ensure production activities comply with company quality standards and requirements. Develop and maintain a robust Quality Management System aligned with customer expectations. Create and implement In-Process Inspection Plans (IPC) for in-house manufactured mechanical components. Inspect mechanical items using drawings, models, CMMs, measuring arms, and horizontal and vertical machine centres. Perform first-off and routine inspections, recording results and managing non-conformance reports and concessions. Support production operations, including packaging, dispatch, and collaboration with the production team. Qualifications: Hold or be eligible for AGSVA clearance (Australian citizenship required). Minimum Certificate III in Engineering with at least 5 years of post-trade experience. Experience in mechanical assembly, prototyping, and 3D modelling (preferably SolidWorks). Strong attention to detail, hand–eye coordination, and proficiency in manual machining, fabrication, and precision measurement. Competent in Microsoft Office (Excel and Word) with experience in Statistical Process Control (SPC). Excellent organisational, communication, and adaptability skills in a dynamic work environment. Hours & Pay Rate: Hours: Monday to Friday, Day shift 6.00am - 2.06pm, Afternoon shift 2.00pm - 10.06pm.
