Job Description
WSP's Geo-Environmental Engineering team in Australia develops, designs, and delivers subsurface and earth structures that enable our clients to operate their sites responsibly while safeguarding the environment. We are seeking a Senior Associate to Principal-level Project Manager to join our team and play a pivotal role in managing multidisciplinary projects from concept through to completion.
About the role
As the Senior Associate to Principal-level Project Manager you'll ensure excellence in project delivery, foster strong stakeholder engagement, and champion sustainability. You Will:
* Lead and inspire a team of construction and engineering specialists, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.
* Manage the full project lifecycle for design and construction (D&C) projects, with a focus on ground engineering, contaminated land, and geo-environmental solutions.
* Oversee project delivery, ensuring outcomes are on time, within budget, and meet or exceed client expectations.
* Drive project performance by managing schedules, costs, risks, revenue, and contract variations, while maintaining robust financial controls and reporting.
* Engage and collaborate with a diverse range of stakeholders, including clients, statutory authorities, consultants, sub-contractors, and end-users, to ensure positive and productive relationships.
* Support business development by promoting WSP's capabilities, contributing to proposals, and identifying new opportunities.
* Champion WSP's commitment to health, safety, environment, and sustainability, ensuring all project activities align with best practices and regulatory requirements.
* Mentor and develop junior engineers, sharing technical knowledge and supporting their professional growth.
* Contribute to change management initiatives and recommend improvements to enhance project delivery and client satisfaction.
About You:
* Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field; postgraduate qualifications in geotechnical engineering or tailings management are highly regarded.
* Professional project management experience, ideally with PMP certification.
* Proven track record managing multidisciplinary projects in construction or civil infrastructure.
* Strong financial acumen, with experience in forecasting, estimating, and cost management.
* Proficiency in project scheduling tools (MS Project or Primavera P6 preferred).
* Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.
* Commitment to safety, sustainability, and continuous improvement.
