The Role
GHS Solutions has an exciting opportunity for an Estimator (Metal Fabrication) to work within our Engineering division on a permanent basis, supporting our metal fabrication, machining, blast and paint and poly welding business units.
The Estimator plays an important part as a leader providing technical skills within our business, tasked with the responsibility of quoting works and tendering projects.
Key Responsibilities
o Initiate, scope, estimate works and larger projects within the desired response time
o Utilise GHS Solutions systems of work, to track opportunities through to estimates and sales orders
o Initiate and coordinate procurement, with suppliers and sub-contractors
o Handover works won to relevant team members within the participating business unit
o Engage with clients and all stakeholders via clear, consistent communication, upholding GHS values
o Create concept design drawings as required
This role would suit an individual with:
o Proven track record in a similar role
o Minimum of 2 years post trade experience in workshop, site engineering or other works relevant to our target market (5 years preferable)
o Exceptional problem solving and analytical abilities as well as a sound knowledge of relevant legislation, standards and codes
Other Abilities:
o Great communication skills
o High attention to detail
o High level computer skills, with experience using MS Projects, Excel and Word. Experience with SAPB1 and AutoCad is desirable but not mandatory.
o Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, plans
