We are seeking an experienced
Workday Finance Consultant
to join a Greenfield Workday implementation program in Melbourne.
This role is ideal for a seasoned professional who can lead solution design and delivery across Workday Financials, Procurement, and Sourcing within a Fin-first environment.
About the Role
As a key member of the project team, you will be responsible for architecting and implementing Workday Finance solutions from the ground up.
You will ensure seamless integration with enterprise systems and drive a secure, scalable, and compliant Workday landscape that aligns with organisational strategy.
Key Responsibilities
Solution Design
Lead the end-to-end solution design for Workday Financials, Procurement, and Sourcing within a Greenfield implementation.
Apply Workday's Fin-first principles to define the overall architecture.
Support basic HCM configuration required for Finance operations.
Implementation & Configuration
Lead the build, configuration, and deployment of Workday Financials, Procurement, and Sourcing modules.
Configure business processes, security roles, workflows, and reporting.
Support Workday upgrades, enhancements, and change activities.
Integration Management
Design and oversee integrations between Workday and external systems (ERP, banking, payroll providers, benefits platforms, etc.).
Maintain data accuracy, governance, and compliance across integrated data flows.
Governance & Compliance
Establish governance frameworks across Finance, Procurement, and Sourcing.
Ensure regulatory and internal compliance across Workday modules.
Stakeholder Engagement
Partner with Finance, HR, IT, and external vendors to deliver aligned and effective business solutions.
Provide guidance and mentorship to Workday analysts and administrators.
Continuous Improvement
Monitor system performance and proactively recommend enhancements.
Stay current on new Workday releases, features, and best practices.
Required Skills & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Finance, or related field.
8+ years of Workday experience with deep expertise in Financials.
Proven background in Workday deployments, ideally large-scale or greenfield.
Strong hands-on experience with Workday Financials (GL, AP, AR, Procurement, Expenses, Sourcing).
Proficiency with Workday integration tools: EIB, Core Connectors, Studio.
Advanced understanding of Workday security, reporting, and business process configuration.
Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Workday Financials certifications.
Experience in large-scale or regulated program environments.
Strong knowledge of financial and HR functional best practices.
