This is a privately owned financially stable and consistently profitable property group with a strong track record of delivering high quality developments. The business is entering a significant growth phase, with plans to scale its portfolio substantially over the next five years. The property and construction function plays an integral role in that growth. With multiple projects currently in construction and a clear acquisition pipeline, the organisation is now seeking to strengthen its commercial capability with the appointment of a Senior Contract Administrator.
The Opportunity
This person will provide senior commercial leadership across new developments, refurbishments, expansions and capital works projects. This role will take ownership of cost planning, estimating, procurement and end to end contract administration, ensuring projects are delivered safely, compliantly, on time and within approved budgets. You will be responsible for bringing financial discipline, reporting clarity, and process consistency into a fast growing construction environment, while leading negotiations and managing contracts across a live and expanding portfolio.
Key areas of focus include
* Leading detailed cost planning and estimating across developments and refurbishments
* Preparing feasibility budgets, cost plans, tender estimates and reconciliations
* Reviewing tender documentation to identify cost risk and buildability considerations
* Leading contract preparation, negotiation and administration across head contracts, consultants and trades
* Managing progress claims, variations, extensions of time, final accounts and defect close out
* Providing monthly cost reporting, cash flow forecasting and budget variance analysis
* Driving procurement processes and benchmarking pricing across the marketConsolidating reporting across multiple systems to create a streamlined and reliable source of data
* Supporting live site delivery, ensuring works are managed safely and with minimal operational disruption
Skills and Experience Required
You will bring at least 5 years' experience in a senior Contract Administrator, Estimator or dual CA/Estimator capacity within commercial construction. A background across complex, multi site or live operational environments will be highly regarded. You will be highly numerate and commercially astute, with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Experience administering D&C and construct only contracts, along with a solid understanding of cost planning, estimating and contract governance, is essential. Beyond technical capability, you will be process driven, methodical and confident holding stakeholders at all levels accountable. Strong reporting capability, and the ability to consolidate data from multiple sources will be imperative to success in the role.
