Job Description

We are seeking a Store Manager to manage the daily operations of our Family Store. The ideal candidate will have 2 years' experience in retail and/or customer service, preferably in a supervisory/managerial role.


Key Responsibilities:

* Leadership and Direction: Provide leadership and direction in terms of sourcing and presenting stock as well as selling and delivering.
* Store Operations: Oversee the display of goods for sale, authorise/set pricing, coordinate adequate labour and physical resources, approving adjustments to pricing or discounts to customers.
* Safety and Compliance: Lead a safe workplace environment, report any property or equipment damage and coordinate all repairs in consultation with the Corps Officer.
* Volunteer Management: Recruit, maintain and manage an excellent volunteer/employees force that run the store efficiently (including coordination of Work for the Dole, State Debt Recovery or other similar community or corporate volunteer resource programs).


Requirements:

* Experience: 2 years' experience in retail and/or customer service (preferably in a supervisory/managerial role).
* Cash Handling: Demonstrated experience in cash handling, banking and cash register operations and reconciliations.
* Mentoring and Training: 1 year experience in mentoring/training and managing staff or ability to demonstrate capability to undertake.
* Industry Knowledge: Proven experience in the recycling/transport industry would be highly desirable.
* Skills and Qualities: Self-motivation, high level of initiative and a strong work ethic. Sound communication skills (both oral and written) to be able to interact positively with a variety of people. The ability to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively. Team working skills, flexibility with a positive attitude. Excellent customer service skills. Solid level of computer literacy and basic bookkeeping.
