Accountant Role
The role of an accountant involves providing financial expertise and support to various organizations. As a key member of the accounting team, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, managing financial records, and analyzing financial data to inform business decisions.
Key responsibilities include:
* Developing and implementing accounting systems to ensure efficient financial management;
* Preparing cash flow statements, budgets, and evaluating financial risks for capital investment projects;
* Maintaining accurate financial records in compliance with established policies and procedures;
* Ensuring the accuracy of financial statements through regular audits and analysis;
* Preparing comprehensive financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing accounting information for stakeholders;
* Analyzing financial trends, costs, and revenue to identify opportunities for improvement;
* Liaising with external accountants for tax returns and business activity statements;
* Conducting internal audits to verify the accuracy of financial records and identifying areas for improvement;
* Supervising payroll processes and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations;
* Reviewing operating costs and expenditures, escalating findings to senior management.
Required Skills and Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field;
* At least 2 years' experience in a professional accounting capacity gained within Australia;
* Commercial experience with MYOB Accounting and XERO software;
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and commitment to accuracy;
* Excellent communication and time-management skills, with ability to work effectively in a team environment.
