About The Role
As a Senior Property Officer, you will be part of the Property Services Section and play a key role in technical advice and services that enable Council to acquire land and interest in land required for Council's capital delivery projects. You will manage land acquisition projects and provide strategic advice ensuring alignment with the strategic direction of the organisation.
Responsibilities
* Conduct property due diligence and analysis including coordinating specialist advice including valuation to inform organisational decision‐making.
* Lead sensitive negotiations with property owners and stakeholders.
* Manage expectations and issues with key stakeholders including identifying and escalating possible political or high‐risk matters.
* Manage the delivery of land transfers, easements, resumptions, access matters, and related legal documentation.
* Analyse and provide strategic and technical advice on reports related to acquisition of land and / or interest in land and the legislative requirements.
* Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
* Contribute to improvement of compliant property processes, policies, and databases.
About You
* Desirable to have a relevant degree in Business, Property or related field.
* Proven experience with the area of property advisory and property transaction services.
* Understanding of the Acquisition of Land Act 1967, Property Law Act 1974 and Local Government Regulations 2012.
* Current Queensland "C" class driver's licence.
* High attention to detail with strong time‐management skills, clear written communication, ability to provide technical advice, and capability to build and maintain effective stakeholder relationships.
