About the role
Our client is seeking an experienced Traffic Management Designer (TMD) to join their Sunshine Coast team. You'll design, coordinate and support traffic management plans across a wide range of projects in QLD and NSW. Working closely with operations, permits and field teams, you'll ensure plans are compliant, practical and delivered to a high standard. This role suits a proactive designer who values ownership, collaboration and being part of a growing, well-structured business.
Key responsibilities
• Develop Traffic Management Plans (TMPs) and Traffic Guidance Schemes (TGS)
• Ensure designs comply with legislation, AS standards, AGTTM and company procedures
• Conduct risk and hazard identification and document controls
• Liaise with local councils, state authorities, clients and internal stakeholders
• Prepare and support permit submissions and approvals
• Communicate operational requirements and handovers to field teams
• Review and update plans as works progress
• Maintain accurate documentation, version control and reporting
What you'll need
• Traffic Management Designer (TMD) accreditation — essential
• Current Australian driver's licence and White Card
• Experience using RapidPlan or similar traffic design software
• Strong understanding of AS 1742.3, AGTTM and relevant Codes of Practice
• Knowledge of safety management systems and risk processes
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
