Position: Motor Mechanic
Salary: $75,000 to $80,000 per annum plus 12% superannuation

Rod's Mechanical Repairs is a trusted local automotive workshop providing high-quality mechanical servicing, diagnostics, and repair solutions for a wide range of vehicles. We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Motor Mechanic to join our growing team. This role requires a strong technical background, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced workshop environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults in vehicle engines, systems, and components using modern diagnostic tools and equipment
* Inspect, dismantle, and assess engine assemblies, transmissions, steering systems, braking components, and related mechanical parts
* Repair, replace, and reassemble worn or faulty components to manufacturer and safety standards
* Carry out scheduled vehicle servicing including oil changes, lubrication, tune-ups, and general maintenance to ensure optimal performance and compliance with emission standards
* Test, adjust, and fine-tune mechanical systems after repairs to ensure safe and efficient vehicle operation
* Utilise diagnostic software and computer-based tools to identify faults and verify repair accuracy
* Conduct vehicle inspections and identify roadworthiness requirements where applicable
* Assist with breakdown repairs and provide timely mechanical support when required
* Maintain workshop cleanliness, safety standards, and proper handling of tools and equipment
* Work collaboratively with other technicians to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality service delivery
Qualifications:
• Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent qualification (preferred but not required)
• Minimum 1 year experience in automotive diagnostics, servicing, and repairs
Skills & Requirements:
* Strong knowledge of engine systems, transmissions, suspension, and electrical components
* Ability to use diagnostic scanners and workshop equipment confidently
* Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Commitment to workplace safety and quality workmanship
