Dean & Ling Executive are proud to partner with ARTC Inland Rail for this once-in-a-generation project and are seeking expressions of interest from Cost Managers to work on this exciting project.
Inland Rail (IR) is a 1,700km fast freight backbone, connecting Melbourne and Brisbane that will transform how goods are moved around Australia, better linking business, manufacturers and producers to national and global markets.
The role of a Cost Manager is to support the project controls team in managing baseline funding and reporting on budget performance. As members of the controls team, the Cost Managers cover projects along the entire alignment of the IR program. These positions will support the coordination and administration of the cost function, including forecasting, trending and change management, to facilitate the delivery teams' objectives within the overall program and budget.
**Responsibilities**:
Update and maintain Cost Management System and the information stored within for accuracy and timeliness.
Provide monthly forecasts in accordance with the scope and schedule to meet the reporting calendar.
Monitor and analyse commitments and actuals for accuracy of information.
Provide cost variance analysis and commentary.
Ensure compliance to Program Controls procedures and processes including Schedule, Cost, Change, Risk Management and Document Control.
Develop and implement effective cost control systems.
Develop, manage and own project budgets on behalf of the delivery team and ensure accurate forecasts are provided monthly.
Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Undertake variance analysis and advise Project Controls Lead on financial risks and appropriate solutions.
Identify timescale opportunities/threats to the project and liaise with the appropriate members of the delivery team to achieve 'best for project' outcome.
About You
To ensure success in this position, applicants will be able to demonstrate:
Minimum of 7 years' project controls associated experience.
Demonstrated ability and functional knowledge of cost control tools, including Prism and Excel; Microsoft Office and other relevant software programs.
Experience in a large Financial system such as Oracle, SAP or Ci Financials.
Demonstrated strong technical competence in the area of cost control, tracking and reporting.
Ability to interpret cost and schedule data for forecasting purposes.
Ability to work in a diverse cultural team environment; be able to work unsupervised; accept responsibility and act on directives.
High level of interpersonal, oral and written communication skills with the ability to interface, interact and work with a variety of stakeholders.
